How old is the battery,and do you have the steering wheel boss.

Battery is one season old. I dont have a boss as I was going to use the boss of my standard wheel. A direct fit to Subaru classic boss.

Regarding the HKS filters... One looks to be a 2 layer (on left) and the other a 3 layer. The 3 layer's extra layer is a finer foam for better filtration.
