why did you pay £850 for bearings when you can get acl competition bearings for near £200 for the full set?

what special about the mahle type that it warrants a cost of £850?

The mahle bearings utilise a seperate thrust washer, and are made specifically for the wrc crank, take a look at the rcm website. They are a pure competition bearing and are hand finished with far superior material and quality.
The acl bearings are very hard and if you get a slight pick up with them geberally the crank is goosed, these bearings are much softer and give a greater chance of saving the crank, and when it costs £2200 not £350 its worth good bearings.
These bearings where chosen specifically for the engine if you need to know more about them speak to rcm.
regards
Paul
