Default Hawkeye 5 speed gear box

21000 mile all in good working order.
offers around £400.00 + P+P
This gear box is a spare gearbox that I bought while I was having my track gearbox repaired.
I drove the car with this gearbox in it to France, its spot on.
It has never been on the track, it was just a spare, I will guarantee this box.

What clutch set up does this have i.e push or pull clutch. You can tell if it has the pin through the side of the box to retain the clutch release bearing fork. Or just post up the box code.

Nope as the seller above is finding the 7AA boxes have a push clutch i.e no large pin through the case to retain the release bearing fork as I mentioned above I am sure the
6AA has a pull clutch thats why the 7AA's are almost worthless even though they are really good boxes.

Nope 6AA and 7AA boxes are totally different to the earlier 754 boxes the case on the 6AA and 7AA is much wider around the front diff and I belive the drop gears are different as well.

If you can pick up the box with the clutch servo, the clutch and flywheel and rear diff for good money it makes a very strong box.

hmmm it is even more clearly , right now. thanks.

I will have to talk to my mechanic what is better and of course cheaper. 6AA or 7AA converted to puch clutch. in both cases i need new clucht, 'cause mine is bit used alreay.

for 7AA i would need rear diff also. Advntage is that, 7AA ratio is 4,11 and for me it is better than long 3,9.

Hi all. to clear this up,
the hawkeye 5 speed I have Is defo a push clutch.
This hawkeye box has not been appart, & is in great working order.
The cars original 5 speed gearbox I had in my car a Brand new platted front diff fitted in to it.
it also had a set of Dog gears in it. this gear box was smashed to peices when I selected 1st instead of 3rd when I was slowing the car down. But the diff is still good.
I also had a new 6 paddle Competition lightweight clutch kit
I also have an hawkeye 5 speed prop.
I also have a new 4.111 rear plated diff. to match this gearbox.
I also have a short shifter for this 5 speed gearbox.
This is a full kit bar the drive shafts.

Thanks

Bez

As they are a stronger box to cope with the 2.5 torque.

RCM do a Pull to push convertion kit. now why would they do that?

Soz bud not too sure of the ratios.
but on the 4.111 diffs
1st 29mph @ 6200 rpm
2nd 58mph
3rd 90mph
4th 122mph
5th 155mph

if that helps at all

kb1 I have had the box for about 2 years now, these cars are now out of warranty, I'm in no rush to sell it,
I feel more confident with the 6 speed.
I think its just a case of keeping it on, more & more are moding WRXs, stresing the gearbox and breaking them. the 6 speed conversion, with all the other bits to convert coat about £3,500.00 not everyone can afford.
So offers around 400 is a cheep box.
Cheers.
