Vauxhall astra Coupe 2.2
2001 AStra Mk4 Coupe in Black Saphire.
Tax until end of Feb, 8 Months MOT.
We have had this car for 3 years now, and it`s time for an update. We bought the car with 80,000 on the clock, it now has 126,000. It`s been a reliable daily runner for Claire, requiring very little work.
Exterior wise the body work is in Average condition, plenty of small scratchs and bumps as to be expected with a car this old really. This summer it had two new headlights. It has an aftermarket badgless grill with the bonnet pull shortened to fit. There is no rust visable on the exterior of the car.
The interior is in better conditionand although it has slight bolster wear I would describe it as good. Cream Heated Leather, Tailored fit mats, Aftermarket reverse park sensor with visable display (the sensores have to be kept clean.) The center consul has been replaced with black instead of beige, looks much smarter. The glovebox has been changed for a non CD changer one for more space. Traction controll switch has been fitted. Factory fit cruise control. Sony MP3/bluetooth Head unit, this is only 1 year old and works correctley with the steering wheel controls.
Suspension wise the car is on V-max Coilovers, currently lowered around 40mm, but has plenty of play up or down. These are onlly around 8 months old! The car is on 16" Vauxhall alloys all with really good tyres, the front two are Vredstien Wintrac tyres, really good in the current dodgy weather. Back two are bridgestones.
The car has a Powerflow cat back stainless steel exhaust system. A coutenay panel filter in de-restricted airbox. The pre cat has been removed from the downpipe. The airbox to throttle body pipe has been replaced with a vectra C pipe. The egr valve has been blanked off with a GM blanking plate but is still attached and tied out of the way. The car flies through the mot like this but the egr could easliy be put back in if required.
The car has ran at santa pod and runs low 16`s. It has never been rolling roaded. The car has been serviced by me and has recived full servicing every 8000 miles. Since we had the car, repair wise, it has had, new discs and pads all round(quite a while ago now), new coil pack, both front bearings/abs sensors. It has also had the front screen replaced last month.
So now the bad bits, The enigine in the car is not the original, it was swapped just before we bought the car for a 2.2 from a Zafira, this had only done 16,000 at the time and is the later engine, we have had no problems with this swap and I would personally say that it was good thing, but thats your call. Thus the engine number will not match the chasis details.
The rear demistter only works on half the bars and has been repaired with metal paint at some time.
Air con hasn`t worked since we had it, may just need re-gassing but never tried.
The drivers seat does not fold forward.
The exhaust occasionally clunks against the heat shield over big enough bumps.
The car is located in Stoke On Trent, PM me to arrange a test drive etc... Car is sold with no warrenty.
