I've had a couple of conversations with Scott via email but after getting the info and trying to get a decent quote it's not for me. Sorry for wasting your time Scott but believe me it wasted a fair amount of my time too trying to get a quote under £2000 and it proved impossible.
Hint to anyone else: Save Scott's time and GET AN INSURANCE QUOTE FIRST. I made the mistake of thinking it'd only be a couple of hundred quid over a standard RA and was shocked.

No harm done, but for £2000.00 that you were saving on the price of the car and me still including AP Brakes then I would have thought that the £600.00 difference from where you wanted to get the insurance to was kinda irrelevant me thinks. Hence my mail to you.
Buying decisions on cars such as this aren't insurance led.
No worries and no harm done
and as I said good luck buying your future car.

that looked like one blinding car !
I never got to see it in the flesh & now the pics have gone before i could save them
I understand why you are frustrated but please can you put some piccies in the members gallery ????
Do you have to sell it ? i cant possibly see what would be nicer than that car
Good luck selling it anyway
Cheers

I know, I know. I'm thinking further into the future than that. Whilst I understand what you're saying about not picking a car like that for the "insurance cost" I have to say it needs to be in perspective. I am buying a scooby as a pratical alternative to the previous cars (Lotus esprit, TVR cerbera...forgiving the Slaaaab that I had inbetween!!). Both of these cars put out considerably more power than the scooby but were a fraction to insure ESPECIALLY we when start talking percentage of total car cost. Bearing in mind I want a gorgeous sounding, fantastic track tool that is also practical and easy to use for the road and saves cost whilst still letting me have fun. Now a Type-R isn't going to be a patch on that gorgeous machine you have there but at the same time I can still have fun. Now when I hit 30 I've been told costs come down (apparently WREN are a main underwriter of heavily modded scoobs but changed their rules about 3 weeks ago to not insure under 30's - I could have insured the car for MUCH less otherwise). Still, hope you get a sale and I truly am gutted I can't be the owner right now, to the point where I've still spent all weekend racking my brains for a way to do it!
If you don't mind me asking - where did those front seats come from?

Dubbs still irrelevant saving 2k on the car and me leaving 1.5s of brakes on, the extra 600 notes of insurance shouldn't have changed your mind but then again its down to the individual.
The seats are special edition items that come with the car as standard as with many of the other special STI parts.
Have fun with the Type R, it wasn't meant to be.
