Anyone have a 4.44 R180 rear diff lying around? I need a new one (or everything but the casing) for an STi 6 RA. If no one has one, can they point me in the right direction?

Maximum,
Harvey had a diff off an STi6 in his garage last time I saw him. Don't know whether it is the right spec for you though.
Have a look under the Northern section, I think he started a thread on meets in the North East and then you can get his e-mail off his profile.
Damian.

Everything is wrong with it!!! Apparently, it was run without oil by someone who owned it prior to me. (???) I bought it as a spare so I didn't know this at the time. It's been broken open and the gears and bearings are trashed. My mechanic says it's almost the same price to buy a new one as it is to repair, considering the damage.
Thanks for the leads guys, I will follow up!!!

I think grade A subarua had one last time I checked a few weeks ago.
Dont worry about the crown wheel and pinion. If you do accidentally get hold of a 4.11 (no chance of a 3.9) then you could sell it and bye a 4.44 with ease, and pocket the £300 difference!
had been trying to get a 4.11 or a 3.9 for a r180 for years. Turns out prodrive had them specially made, but they used to be available from a nissan, cant remember which though.

pnebbs,
unlikely to be an r180 as you cannot easily change the final drive since the parts are like rocking horse ****.
any other diff will not go on as the casing is different, the bearigs are different, the driveshafts are different, the crown wheel and pinion are also different.
