Sti 4 Type R
#1
Looks like everyone's doing it
Considering selling the Scoob to make way for something a little more summery , so this is to test the water as much as anything. I'll keep this on here for a couple of weeks, and then decide whether to advertise it in the press, so one of you fellow enthusiasts could be the lucky owner if you're quick!!
One note to all - I will not be discussing any prices online, please do so by the email adress below. Feel free to make offers, but expect me to take the **** out of you if they're daft!!
Couple of pics of the car (dirty I'm afraid, but you get the idea)
Oh, I am in West London.
Full spec:
98 R reg, Sonic Blue Sti4 Type R in excellent condition, with
about 52k miles and full history from new.
As a Type R, it has the following as standard spec:
3 door body shell
Close ratio quick shift Group N gearbox
Blue printed engine - redlined at 8250 rpm
Low friction aluminium inverted struts
4 piston front and 2 piston rear brake callipers
Adjustable centre diff (from a dial on the centre console) which allows customisation of handling characteristics from rear-drive - to full 4 wheel drive with diff lock (for gravel, ice etc...)
Intercooler waterspray cooling system.
Front strut brace, rear solid bulkhead
Climate control air con
Electric windows
Electric folding door mirrors
Fully colour coded
Lower 3-piece front splitter
Factory extra - quick steering rack - very rare and gives 2.5 turns lock to lock.
OTHER MODS:
DRIVETRAIN
Full Power Engineering T75 exhaust system, sounds awesome but not too loud - no droning or resonation. Also has a sports CAT so will pass MOT!
Blitz Sus Induction kit (been on for ages, and no MAF problems cos its an STI 4!!!)
AP Racing clutch
SUSPENSION BRAKES AND WHEELS
Uprated Group N discs, pads and dot 5 fluid
17 inch silver Mim Brescia wheels from Scoobysport with Bridgestone SO2 pole-position tyres. About ¼ worn. The 17'' wheels improve the ride drammatically.
Had full Power Engineering laser alignment to Prodrive settings.
STYLING
Scoobysport carbon fibre 22B rear wing
Clear side repeaters
OTHER
Full Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser
Also has an up-rated but modest CD player and speakers.
The mods are very safe i.e. just breathing mods and they also improve fuel consumption greatly.
The car made 313 Bhp on Power Engineering's rollers.
Power/weight ratio is about (313bhp/1250kg x 1000) 252 Bhp/tonne.
Always run on Opyimax or SUL. The car was imported by Park Lane, and has had full history with them, Power Engineering or other specialists and has had the major cambelt service etc. It was imported used in 1999, but has its Japanese service history (very rare), plus Park Lane are probably the most reputable company in the UK for imports. Check out www.parklaneuk.net. I have had it
inspected and HPId etc, but would be happy for you to do any check you like. I am the third owner.
It is in excellent condition, with a few of the ubiquitous stone chips. Wheels are basically immaculate as I have had the only damaged one refurbed. It looks stunning. The interior is in very good condition.
All questions and offers to freemrh@btinternet.com please.
