Due to me now needing a car with 4 doors I`m having to sell my MK2 `87 D reg Golf GTI 16V. Its Monza blue with big bumpers, RH cup 15 inch alloys, central locking & electric windows, alarm & CAT 2 immobiliser. 94k miles & MOT til Jan 2003.
Now to the juicy bit
It was converted from new by GTi Engineering to their 2 litre engine. Its got a K&N filter, gas flowed inlet & exhaust manifolds & a stainless steel exhaust. Its been rolling roaded at 160 bhp & 146 lbft of torque (125 lbft at 2k revs) with a nice smooth power curve & quite a flat torque curve.
The suspension is lowered using a Bilstien kit with Eibach anti roll bars front & rear.
Its had a rebuilt gearbox with a higher 5th gear & weighted shift rod & a set of new injectors & other bits & pieces.
I bought it from a vicars family that owned it from 1 years old & him, his wife & his daughter have owned it. It was featured in the March `98 copy of "VW Motoring" magazine that I have a copy of.
Its as fast as a Clio Sport 172 & I`d like £2200 ono for it.
