DVLA prices for ****WRX numbers are £250 incl of transfers, etc for pre V reg and £400 for V reg onwards.
I paid just £250 for T**WRX.
Bargain. Try the search facility @ http://www.dvla-som.co.uk (down at the moment I think)

anyone know if P1 5CBY sold as I met the owner of this car just after he'd got it, nice bloke.
Police are cracking down on misspacing and will issue a producer and a fine if they feel like it. they also take pictures and can ask you to go to court. The biggest threat they use is that they will take away your reg and issue you a Q plate if you dont change it the same or next day.
Personally Id take the chance but what do I know... :-)

Your car wouldn't pass an MOT with the plate like that and I think fines up to £1000 have just been introduced for people displaying wrongly formatted plates (not that the police will bother doing anything about it). If you haven't got a valid MOT then your car isn't taxed properly and if your car isn't taxed then your driving on the roads illegally.
Had a look on a few other websites because I can't get the DVLA's working and some prices of interest are :-
M 5CBY - £450
M**CBY - £450
V555WRX - £1000
My plate was on there (not sure why) for £450 though I paid £250 through DVLA, so I would assume the above prices will be £250.
J
P.S.
If you bought the plate you probably only paid £250. Now looking for £750 profit which is fair enough, but I thought people should know its real value.

Agree Alpine.
I couldn't believe it when I was just browsing plates. Saw the low prices (£250) and decided to buy even though I wasn't intending to. There are similar but far less appealing WRX plates like mine on other sites for over £1k.
J
P.S.
Just found S55 5CBY for £244. Any takers.

Sean.. most people, if they have the available dosh, are willing to pay the right money for the right plate.. NOT a compromise plate.. If you have to compromise a little, you may as well compromise a little more and get a cheapy at 250 from DVLA...
I spent ages looking at my ideal plates and I couldn't afford them.. When I started seeing slightly less ideal plates at a grand they just weren't worth it.. If you saw my earlier post I saw a plate I liked at 670 but wasn't going to buy until I saw it on DVLA at 250..
Plates are a classic example of one man's meat is another man's poison and plate sales on here always seem to attract a lot of derision...
Never the less, good luck.

I reckon you'll always have this plate until you lower the price to £150.
Final offer.
I'm off to browse the DVLA site to look at legal plates at sensible prices.

It would be an ideal plate for a 'cut and shut' car. You know, a BMW M1 front with an Impreza back.
I reckon Sean realises that tough crack downs on misplaced number plate letters are coming and wants shot of it quick.
After all M15 CBY means sh*t all to most people.
In my opinion a bulletin board is not the right place to sell something like a number plate because too many people's views will shoot it down (like this thread), putting the potentially naive buyers off.
Better try loot Sean or a Registration Sellers website (you can get a free valuation from these).
