I am thinking of changing my original BackBox and Mid Section for a Magnex system.
Firstly, the original one has done 14k miles but still looks in excellent condition. How much is it worth (serious offers please)? Ideal for someone selling their car and putting it back to standard.
Secondly, I had a Magnex system on my 205 Gti 1.9 and it sounded great but wasn't noisy at motorway speeds. I have been told it will be the same for the Subaru, which is exactly what I want. Does anyone know of a reason why I shouldn't buy one?

Much appreciated,
J

Anyone interested at all, or have an opinion on the Magnex system?

Thumbs up

I've got magnex 6X4 oval backbox on mine, and its just right. Not noisy but releases the flat4 burble on acceleration n idle. Adding the magnex centre decat pipe, with or without the resonator improves the volume. And then a downpipe will make it noisy.

J,

I went for a blast in a fully decatted Scoob with a Magnex BB. Gave me a splitting headache for the rest of the evening (I was in the backseat right in front of the backbox).

It's VERY noisy on full chat (although probably not like the Blitz NUR-Spec), but pretty quiet on the Motorway.

Best place to go to buy and can anyone know where I can listen to one? I'll try Jamie Whitfield now.

Question

What difference does the resonator make ??

I too am interested in the Magnex - can anyone else recommend a system that is in the same kind of budget?? ie BB and Centre section only - that does leave one cat doesn't it ....

Thanks but I want a quiet exhaust at motorway speeds and didn't want to spend so much.

James

Go for the Magnex.

I have the 6x4" Oval backbox, Magnex de-cat centre section and Magnex de-cat downpipe and it sounds awesome when youre cruising round town. Accelaration burble is a deep rumble which sounds great and even though I have no cat the noise at 80MPH cruising is pretty quiet.

I know a couple of people who have 5" pipes which sounds great but is very loud on the motorway

Hanley. How do you get the car through the MOT? I was only intending to replace the mid-cat and BB so that it would pass.
Has your mid-section got the resonator or not?
