Question uk turbo classic engine change please help

hi to all i an wanting to put a new engine in my car but was wanting to know which ones would fit for example can i put a 2005 sti engine in my 1998 uk turbo ? if someone can let me know i would apreciate it thanks

Yes as long as you use your heads as it requires another ECU to run AVCS heads .

thanks for reply so could i take the ecu out of the same car the engine came out of and put that in instead of changing heads ? and also can i leave my original gear box in aswell sorry if these questions sound obvious but dont know anything really only had the car 3 months alls i know is i like driving them and want the best for my classic

thanks for reply so can you tell me what ecu i would need to use the same heads and not mine because one has cracked one of reasons im putting a new engine in

I think you'd probably need a Syvecs ECU that has the AVCS capability. This would need to be used with a custom AVCS loom from JTI. Don't take this as gospel, I'm just going by things I've read while I've been a member on here. Use the search function, all the info is here somewhere.

Seems you can use an Alcatek ECU as well.

However, remap needed due to the changed C/R.
newage heads in a 98 will never work with oem ecu, as the inlet manifold needs to be changed too, as sensors and controls are different.
