Default CRonson's RC Car Rebuild ;)

Hi guy's, well the Impreza Project is on hold for a little while until Ive saved up some money as its the last lump some to get it finished, so until then I've descided to fix up the old remote control car

The started out as a Traxxas T-Maxx but since then its had uprated gears, driveshafts, brake, steering components, extended chassis to fit a bigger engine, new suspension, new bearings, etc...

I pulled the truck out the garage the other day to find it looking abit worse for wear, covered in dust and had a seized piston, but after a couple of hours TLC the piston was freed up and the engine smooth as ever, took it into work yesturday and had it running round the work car park and couldnt believe how easy it fired up after being sat for so long, second tug on the pull start.

So anyway I thought I'd post some pic's of the car and the rebuild as I thought some of you might be interested

Here is the car before strip down, a little dirty but all in working order

Completely stripped the car to clean/fix all the parts

gave the chassis a good clean and a coat of paint as it was looking abit scuffed, also rebuilt the diff's and gearbox

cleaned and refitted the steering knuckles, drive shafts and titanium linkages

More pics to follow as the build continues...

polished up the tuned pipe

all new stainless bolts fitted all round, alot of the heads of the old screws were damaged.

engine fitted, exhaust fitted, reciever fitted, battery box fitted and I've tweeked the steering to give the truck a better turning circle.

discided to run the old 7" wheels I originally bought before I got the 5.5" racing wheels, picture of the size difference

wheels now fitted just needs fuel tank cleaning and air filter cleaning then I'll be taking it out for a shakedown and see what needs tweeking on the truck
