Default Race Car Build - DIY Style

Here we go again then

After binning my last car just as I got it ready for full blown mapping courtesy of the local wildlife I think its time to start what will be my best and last Subaru project.

Tired of working in the cold and rain on my driveway I decided to move house to somewhere a tad more suitable for our needs.

So whilst my other half is out in the paddock out back doing horse related things I went to work on where I will be spending the majority of my time for the next few months.

So with the garage sorted, it was now time to find something to put in it.

So I bought Pete Hardy's 2 Door shell from him, well actually I swapped it for a Syvecs

Some people may recognise it from Pete's for sale thread.

It came with a nice RS500 Intercooler set up mated to a classic rad.

So this is where my Subaru Swan Song begins!

A few pictures to bring the project upto date.
I've stripped the car down to a bare shell. The only thing thats left on the car is the glass and a couple of odds and sods that refused to move without major hassle. The glass will be coming out to fit the cage I ordered from Custom Cages last week.

Engine bay hasn't escaped attention either.

So that's where I'm upto.

Colour has been picked and paint purchased. Can anyone guess the colour? Here's a clue it isn't white and its not a Subaru colour .

This looks interesting. I'd also like a garage like that, although to me, that would crying out for a pit to be dug out.

Good luck with this one Daz, onwards and upwards eh? I'm gonna hazard a guess at Lambo Orange.

Its just seen its first bit of colour.

Its French Racing blue from the New Jag XKR-S.

So that's the main colour, Carbon roof and part carbon bonnet. Graphite or Black Chrome wheels and a white caged interior!

I'm painting it myself this time. Just letting this flash off and it gets a final coat

Looks very interesting, I'd be happy just with a garage that big, let alone one with a project like that in it

I really struggled with what colour to choose. I wanted something that was fairly unique. Hopefully this will turn out looking like it does in my head

I'm happier now i've seen it on the car instead of in the tin

Picture just after the final coat has gone on.

It's totally different to that in the flesh. This is the colour..

Engine and Turbo wise, very similar to my last one. Forged, pinned 2.5 with a rotated Garrett GT35R Billet.

That colour looks almost the same as my colour on my saloon.
