back on the hunt for a scoob
just sold my 530d now on the look out for a nice wrx prodrive blob.
i use to have a wrx which i did like but was not enough power for smiles. so i want a prodrive or a good remapped one .
does the prodrive remap without problems or do things need changing?
I am looking a blobeye prodrive or a properly remapped one with light mods
mileage no more then 70k really my max budget at the moment is 5k for the right car
I think I am being realistic there.
also no 5 6 7 owners

just seen a 2005 1 owner 67k genuine prodrive for 4999 and made him a offer which he said he would take if i am interested but the bodywork is standard wrx looking.
am i right to think this is a very good price especially for 1 owner 2005 05
sounds a good price to me just done a hpi on it and all came back ok

A prodrive is a wrx with a remap and not a great one either. So don't just discount the Wrx. Find a good one and map it for £350. 270bhp should be possible with a decent exhaust.

as above a good wrx with the right mods and remap can make near too 280 bhp on the standard turbo.. upgrade to a vf34/35 some pink injectors and the sti top mount and in excess of 300bhp can be had.
my old bugeye wrx started life as a standard uk 215 bhp car
and when I sold it it was running 280bhp/278 torque

People are far too quick to discount the PPP map, I used to be one of those people but having owned one for almost 3yrs now I can honestly say that it's mostly people who never owned one that say this or just repeating something they read somewhere on the internet.
The PPP map has a lot of mid range pull and is very linear which suits my driving style. It was designed to get the best out of the car and be reliable, which after 103000 miles that mine has covered speaks for it's self. All well and good getting another 10bhp by running leaner and advancing ignition but at what cost to the engine? I personally would rather trust Prodrive than joe bloggs with a laptop at this level.
But hey your car, your money, your choice.

Some good advice and the white scoob looks nice I do like them in white.
I suppose if I get a wrx at a good price I could do the mods but I dont want to really I want a car with the power to start with this time. And yes 260 on the ppp I think I would be happy.
Also with me its dangerous spending money on a car modding it as i dont know how long i will own it. I dont keep my cars long always and then i could be doing it for nothink.
And like you sat if it has prodrive fitted from the dealer you know its not a bodge job
