Travelling back from Liverpool tonight and approaching Death Valley on the M62 this lower than low, maroon coloured, mirrored tinted glass Lexus Soarer approached from the M61 weavin an a bobbin undertaking and eventually landed in front of me........well.......says Mellow.....I'm not having that......so proceeded to follow, at this stage he/she booted it.....alas no good I was there pushing him/her, yawning and waiting for him/her to make room.....this he/she did and I slowly, and I mean slowly passed, at this stage all the world was a blur, silly I know and upon seeing up coming traffic I began to slow down.........the Lexus didn't though, it must have been taking lessons from Stef coz the brakes didn't come on till late........very late ! Full marks to the driver, you obviously know it's limitations, a quick flash of lights from me and hazzards flashed from the Soarer confirmed mutual respect ( even though the Soarer's probably got a P1 scalp on it's bodywork.......sorry peeps ! ) It's 4 x 4" zorsts were so low it was sparking I'm sure, but hey it was quick..........very quick and I'd love to have seen him on our NM5 yesterday were real driving comes into play......till then ! So watch out, it may be coming to your area next !

Are they Lexus or Toyota Soarers? I've seen 'em badged both ways -- most recent was a Toyota Soarer 4.0GT, which I presume has the Lexus 4 litre V8. Can you also get them with a 2.5 litre twin-turbo? Any info / pointers appreciated

What else could you do? Mind, if you were trying to make it home this morning a tricycle would have left you for dead.
PS don't take on the red S plate Volvo Estate, not seen it recently but now the sun's out bet they'll be back.

Lexus and Toyota are one and the same company.... more of less...
The Lexus is the luxury badge for Toyota.
As when Lexus first came out Toyota didn't have a very prestidge image in some countries so some became lexus and others Toyota depending on where the dealer was..

and in the USA they decided to call some (if not all) Toyotas, Acuras!?
Edited because:
DOH!!! I knew it was Honda's and not Toyota's that are badged Acura's in America (I've been there a few times). Just a mind block moment thing!? I'll get my coat etc.

Nope... Acura is Honda in the states... Don't know if all have the brand name, or only the luxury ones though
Some computer game I played thousands of years ago had a car named Acura NSX, which actually is the Honda NSX...

So let's get it straight - they started as Honda in Japan and for some reason the USA decided to badge them as Acura after importing them. Similar to how we badge Opels, Vauxhalls, maybe? Were they ever called Honda's in America though and does the Acura name come from Japan or is it a an 'Americanism'?
Who cares?

If thats the motor I can understand the temptation, but does it constitute "running in"
Not seen the Beamer unless it's the old metallic job that did the other half.
I'll mail you a pic of Emma and her twin in due course.

Honda sells some cars (Civics) as Hondas in the US, and the more expensive ones as Acuras.
Nissan sells it's top luxo-barge in the US as an Infiniti Q45 (?), don't think we get that here.
Toyota sells it's more expensive models as Lexuses abroad (EU / US) ... the Lexus IS200 is the same as the Toyota Altezza, the Lexus RX300 is the Toyota Harrier. The Soarer is sold as a Toyota in Japan, I presume it's a Lexus in the US if it's sold there.
Some grey-importers got done for selling Toyota Soarers rebadged as Lexuses here... stupid customers.
