Default ticking / clicking when using the accelerator

Ok guys need some help asap,

I have a 2006 plate sti, the car has arp head studs and cosworth head gaskets, full decat exhaust, updated pump, Perrin 3 port boost solenoid and was originally mapped with a k and n panel filter. The previous owner fitted a rcm induction kit about a little over a month ago and as it turns out the car didn't get a map tweak for it as he decided to sell and was under the impression it would be OK as it was mapped for a panel filter.

so being over cautious I refitted the air box last night just since doing so when the car is running there is a ticking/clicking sound coming from around the air box / drivers strut / drivers side engine.

this could of been there before just with the induction noise from the rcm large cone filter I couldn't hear it. tonight I have removed the air box and have had a good look about and nothing appears obvious to the eye to be loose, refitted the cone and still the same. popped the standard set up back on and left it there.

I had a hunt on google and some posts pointed towards the boost solenoid so i have checked and all piping to the boost solenoid looks fine, following advice from the posts i disconnected what i think is the correct plug and tried again and the noise is still there.

next was the maf and again disconnected and it still makes the same ticking/clicking sound

Obviously I won't and don't think I should drive it but I was wondering if anyone had any insight to what it could be.

Appreciate it could be needle in a haystack just any help would be great.

video to follow and if you need more info i will do my best to answer

cheers

second video is a little closer, more focused to the engine

You sure it's not just your boost solenoid that's clicking as normal when pressing the accelerator?

Thing is I've never heard it as loud as that before. In any impreza I've owned. Whilst driving, bonnet obviously down and the window slightly open and is loud enough to hear it.

I disconnected what I think is the plug for the solenoid and it still makes the same sound so unless I've pulled the wrong plug out (quite possible)

It's cool Craig, it's all getting sorted.

Had 10 impreza's and never heard an after market boost solenoid sounds like that. Couldn't hear it on the test drive with the sound of the rcm kit anyhow replacement ordered and booked in with Bob Rawle a week on Friday for a remap.

So it's been parked up since the day of collected it. Oh and the tweaks have started and I swore this one would stay as it was lol
