Default Thoughts on these two cars?

Hi all

I'm poised to pull the trigger on one of these two cars, but I can't decide which.

I think I like the white (am I right in thinking that white commands a slight price premium?) slightly more to look at, but the black one does look tidy too.

How about price? I've read good things about the dealer so far and had a chat with him earlier.

Also, what are the control boxes in both cars where the driver's left leg sits? Like a muppet, I forgot to ask the chap... The white car has two of them, whatever they are (I'm guessing boost controller of some sort?). No mention of either being remapped, but the white car seems to have had a few additions that would maybe point to that?

Any thoughts/advice? The white one is a grade 4B but has slight damage to the lower front lip, the white one a grade 4 but no apparent marks (I only spoke to the chap about the white one to be honest). But the black one has coilovers, which I assume are an unknown JDM quantity and could be a bit naff, plus I'd rather have standard suspension.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Control unit is for the Defi gauges although I'm not sure why there are 2 in the white one and the black one has one but seemingly no gauges.

I think both look bloody lovely but would go for the white one

Another one for the white but don't let it cloud your opinion ,I would rather have the better car,not the better colour . But that probably goes with out saying.

Thanks for the thoughts and info guys. Any idea what the jobbie on the right hand corner of the dash is?

My hunch has been white one for a few days now, too. Priced about right from a dealer? There's not many about, so I guess they are what they are price-wise?

Think I'm going to ping a deposit over imminently...

I hope he/she is too, that is well out of order, but what garage is gonna be open at 6pm on a friday? I reckon he's scaring you!

Having said that, nothing to stop him doing it!

Even if he did it is hardly out of order Just because someone asked about a car for sale doesnt mean no one else can buy it in the mean time lol

it looks like the white one has 2 different kinds of defi gauges hence the 2 controllers. im guessing one is for the cowl mounted gauge on the steering wheel and the other for the pod mounted ones. the gizmo on the right of the dash is probably a radar detector of some kind or sat nav. white one all day long for me btw. the 2 worst colours in the world to keep clean but the white one will look so much nicer when clean and polished.

No, I haven't been to see either of them yet, but they're a bloody long way form me so I'm going to have to do it in one hit, i.e, view/drive it and come home with the new one.

I'll certainly give them a good going over, also taking a mate with me who knows his onions.

I did spend a good while on the phone with the seller, he walked me round the whole car and gave me a (seemingly) honest appraisal. That's the best I can do before travelling cross-country to actually look at the car.

I just wanted to "secure it" before anyone else got in first, 'cos I can't make it there until the week after next.

Thanks for the info on the control boxes, ideally I'd change the stereo to a single DIN and move the controllers in to another lower single DIN slot.

Also, had a few white imports now, so I know that keeping them clean can be a PITA. Look ace when they're done though.

I know this, it would just have been a case of sod's law after spending the last few weeks looking for the right Impreza...

Simple rule, if your interested in a car, dont put it up on a public forum that you want it, as like you say you been looking for ages and sods law someone else will buy it in the mean time.

But the white one looks amazing!! Think the box next to the drivers leg might be a turbo timer??? Good luck which ever one you buy, they both look like clean motors!!!

Fair point, but I knew I was close to putting a deopsit down and was pretty sure it would be the white one.

I've bought cars from all over the country by seeing plenty of photos, having a chat with the seller to get a feel for him/the car, and leaving a deposit, and it's not bitten me in the **** yet. Hopefully that won't change with this one.

It's been said, but I'd give them both a look over and a decent drive. You may like the look of one over the other but then find something niggly and annoying.

I do like the look of the white one though.
