Default Does anyone know what is screwed with my hawk??

http://s113.photobucket.com/user/smi...70bd0.mp4.html

Hi guys,
This happens mainly when turning right at slow speed, but has happened whilst slowing down in straight line whilst NOT braking.I've been told it could be differing things, I'm mainly hoping someone has experienced the same noises on their car and can advise me on part(s) knackered.

Thanks Dale

Thanks guys,
Assuming you are right is it a big job and is it dangerous to continue to drive it (booked into local garage early June) Lastly if it is CV joint am I causing more damage to it or would it mean it's long dead/broken?

I don't think they're expensive, 30 quid. Plenty of youtube vids too. I imagine doing one on a scooby is the same as any other car.

Is it the loud clicking at the start of the video?

Well if its the big ends they tend to knock more more from what i have heard of them going.

Rev it to 3k rpm and lift off. It will knock as it slows.

That sounds more top endy to me imo.

What mods does the car have? Any headers etc? As leaking manifolds can make a clicking sound if a gasket has cracked etc. of gas passing by the spark plugs from loose plugs.

Unless of course the pistons have cracked the ring lands lol, that will rattle a bit!

I don't mean to pry but was having a look through some of your history and you mention that you would be getting a second hand fuel pump/oil pump exhaust and a new air filter. If you have, one of these things could have failed. If not and sticking with the assumption that you have done this(not saying you have) have you had a remap?

Definitely not bought any parts yet, I know I'm on the other end of the phone most the time

And there is no second hand fuel pump going in, caught this fella just in time to steer him down the right path, there is still hope :thumb;

I use to have a truck that one day started to make this noise that sounded as if the diff had gone. I took it to the garage and ended up with about 5 guys all scratching their heads stood around the truck. They had no idea what the hell it was but thought it was very serious. Then this old guy came from out the back with a *** in his mouth (you know the type) and just walked over and said has anyone checked the plate that protects one of the rubber brackets for the prop shaft. So we did and it was that all along, the bolt just needed a few turns. .

You never know it mite be nothing.

Do you get any vibrations at all through the pedals ie clutch pedal when it makes the noise?

Still dont think its big ends as it would do it all the time.

One guy not long ago had a loose spark plug that made a clicking sound. Also cracked exhaust gaskets click

Hi Fudgey, I'm away for a week but will try it once home and report my findings either way.I'm liking the sound of the price of a "loose spark plug" though lol, I'll have my fingers crossed for that one all Holiday!!!!

Anyway, his was making noises, got him to turn off the aircon and noise stopped. Was the bearings in the aircon pulley.

my hawk had this sort of a sound and I thought strait away that it had finally given up and was knocking ,, strange as it may sound it turned out to be my downpipe gasket , must of been flapping around and making the slapping noise ,, might be worth a look
