A few weight saving mods but my wife, me and the nipper weigh 27 stone combined.
140 miles off boost was hard though, but my long term average is still over 32mpg and that accounts for all the drag runs, MOT tests, wheel alignment guy keeping the engine on, traffic jams, traffic light madness and cold starts.
I'm thinking it could hit more if I was alone in the car and my engine was sorted - 46% compression loss on 1, 15% loss on 3.
Maybe 42-44mpg?

I've been pleasantly surprised how good my standard WRX is when driving normally. I averaged 36mpg on a 600 mile round trip recently, which consisted mainly of sitting at 75-80 on the motorway.

Basically I sit on the motorway/country roads plodding at 60mph to get my figures.

You hero.
i managed 21mpg average when i had mine, but bought it to drive, not fanny about in.
maybe you should sell it and buy a 320D, you can see up to 60mpg in one of those bad boys...
