If it's the locks (you've typed looks!!) you're talking about then it should have a seperate blue fob to lock and unlock the doors.

Surely the key physically put into the lock should work?

Tomtom, what year Turbo 2000 is it?

So, you have no radio key fob, and the key doesn't fit the locks.

At risk of stating the obvious, you either have the wrong key, or the wrong car.

Please tell us you haven't bought a car without the keys

Could be the door locks have been changed if so may be
worth double checking the vin against the v5 to make sure everything
matches.

Was the car bought from a trader or private sale?

When you say "lock by hand" do you mean use the key
in the door?

I love posts like these. The OP keeps posting snippets of information and we all try and guess the problem.

Have you got the pin for the keypad??

How do you start the car?

If you have the pin you can get new fobs and programme them. If you still have the original alarm.

From your posts its not very clear, if you can answer above it would help.

Could be a 2/3 pager this
Does the key work in the door lock Yes / NO
Does the key turn the ignition Yes/No
Alarm pin code Yes /NO
Did you buy the car from a dodgy looking bloke at a gypsy fair at Appleby Yes /No

Once we have more info we can move forward with this puzzle

Then how do you open it? You say you don't have a fob?

The fact that he 'brought' the car means that I'm out before I have even started.

You could always get an after market alarm like clifford or something then you'd get a fob to open everything, added security and a tracker depending on which you buy

Imagine how gutted you would be. Years of wanting and saving up for your dream UK Turbo 2000 but you purchase one without a key

Minutes later "oh drat."

Don't say that, I got in the back of my car and locked it whilst testing the alarm. Unlocked it and realised I've got the kiddie locks on

clearly the only option appears to be you'll have to lock the doors by hand or buy an aftermarket alarm.
