It is almost 20yrs old so i'd expect there to be a few, fuel bills probably frighted most off after a year or two.

amount of owners have never put me off, as long as the car look clean and you have a budget should anything go wrong, dont worry

Impreza's are rarely owned for long. Regular service bills, high insurance and all to often fuel stops put most off after a short period.
If the car is right then double figure owner number shouldn't put you off.
