Default reverse lever stiff

Quick random question, driving today and needed to reverse, noticed the reverse lever was suddenly stiff to lift and get into reverse.
Any ideas? Bit of lube?

How did you sort it out? Probably a good idea to state how and then leave the thread up in case anybody else faces the same issue.

Long story short, don't car bond your gear **** on then reverse as it gets on the shaft, therefore making the reverse lever stiff!
