Default Returning to stock dump/recirculating valve

Morning folks. I have an 03 wrx PPP wagon which has a baileys dv and k&n induction kit fitted. I bought the car recently and enjoyed the chavvy *Ppssshh!!* noises for the first week, but now its annoying etc etc.

My question is, can I tell if the ECU has been remapped for these mods at all? Is there an easy way to know?

If I go back to the factory recirc vavle, and ditch the induction kit am I going to need to get a remap?

If remapping is on the cards, I'd be greatful for advice!

Has the car been mapped with the dump valve and induction kit on, if so by who?

That's the point, I don't know unfortunately.

I'm considering swapping the induction kit out for stock today, as I have the parts, and seeing how it runs. I can't ditch the baileys till I can get an OEM valve

Well, no. Chavvy was maybe the wrong term. Personal preference and all that Its just got a bit annoying. I'm driving a wagon, I want it a little less obvious (though the Subaru rally blue paint and double spoilers don't help that!)

Also, I don't know if the ECU has been remapped, and I don't like the things I'm reading about baileys/dv's in general (over fueling etc).

Ive just recently changed a Bailey DV back to OEM on my Hawk for similar reasons and I share your opinion DV's are a bit 'Chavvy' but each to theirs. Mine ran exactly the same so I guess it's a suck and see.

I'm no expert but my understanding is that a remap requires a replacement ECU. So can't you have a look to see if you have the standard PPP ECU?

Thanks for the replies chaps. I hadn't realised I'm going to need to remove the off side wing/bumper etc to get the resonator in, so a project for another time.

Just waiting on payday now, so I can get my hands on an OEM recirc valve.

I'm looking to do this on a recent classic I've just bought, I've got a bugeye top mount and a spare bugeye recirc valve but can't find anywhere at all that sells the big hose that connects to the bottom of the recirc and goes to the turbo. Don't even know what the pipe is called so if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. (Sorry to hijack the thread)

My bugeye was mapped after I fitted an induction kit , there was a dump valve already fitted. I recently changed the dv back to standard with no obvious difference other than the sound.

The induction kit is was I would be worried about being mapped in. Problem being if it HAS been mapped and you go back to standard it may mess about , and vice versa. Does the car run good now ? If so just swap the dv and see what it sounds like with just induction. Mine actually still makes a psssht sound on gear changes with the induction so you may not like that either. Mine used to chatter at low revs and dump at high revs , which I kinda miss TBH .
