Hi,
I have a Classic 1998 UK Turbo Wagon atm, mildly breathed on to about 260bhp by RCM ,but otherwise standard. I really fancy an Sti V5 Sport Wagon import, but I am concerned that the suspension will be too hard for wife and family use. I know it is subjective, but has anyone experienced the two, and can make a comment, please. Thanks.

Get the STI, even tho I haven't experienced the difference in a uk wagon, I couldn't think it being ridiculously hard and just say if it is hard for you then can't you just change the shcoks and springs?
Am I right in thinking that the P1 shocks and springs are softer than the import sti setup?

I have a MY00 UK wagon on stock suspension and a V6 Sti saloon on stock suspension.
The standard Sti suspension is perfectly fine for family use, I find it very nice actually. Part of my drive with 5 of us on board is about 3 miles down a single track bumpy back road and the standard Sti suspension feels excellent, never bottoms or scrapes. Standard Sti suspension in good condition is great.

I also went from a uk2000 to a v5 Sti, both wagons. I found the Sti perfectly suitable for family use, did holidays to Cornwall, tip runs, everything in it. Kept the Sti for 5 years.

I currently have a v5 Sti wagon and find the standard shocks and spring set up is totally fine , it's driven on family holidays with roof box and 3 passengers and being my daily drive for nearly 4 years !
Just looking at swap set up to kyb shocks and pi springs
As they are nearly oem ride
Hope this helps
