Default IMPREZA PARTS SCAMMING

WARNING TO EVERYONE - DO NOT DEAL WITH A COMPANY CALLED IMPREZA PARTS ON FACEBOOK or JD MOTORSPORT FROM CARLISLE. Massive amount of posts on various pages regarding people getting scammed, ripped off, sold crap etc and they need banning from everywhere and sorting out. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Prevention being better than cure, presumably Trading Standards have been informed?

Personally I would rather see scoobyman 2104 banned and sent back to Facebook to play with his friends.

Totally disagree here. Why shouldn't you be allowed to post if you been scammed!?

That's why I asked if Trading Standards had been informed.
It would give us confidence that there was a genuine complaint somewhere along the line.

And if so, probably SN members would understand (tho' still ask for the popcorn, given the usual outcome of such threads).

As above.

Obviously someone's very annoyed.
What has happened (or from what's been implied, hasn't) ?

I sent him money by PayPal for some stuff....said he posted it..it never arrived...he then said he'd post a replacement and when the original arrived I was to "not sign for it" none arrived!
I raised a dispute with PayPal and got my money back!

I've seem a lot on Facebook about this Impreza Parts scamming people.
I don't really trust many on Facebook groups they all seem to be scamming someone.
Heard about sellers being scammed by buyers as well so it's all a bit dodgy!

There we are.
Now we know what you're talking about and it's a fair point.

He/they have the opportunity to respond.

And SN readers have a chance to make a balanced decision.
We know you feel hard done by, and not that you're just repeating possible tittle-tattle on FB.

(Now, where's that popcorn..............)
Sorry, not trying to trivialise it but there are lots of this type of thread on here.

I don't do it full stop.

Although decent and 'sane' people use it it's the grade 1 planks, the Jeremy Kyle Show wanabees, that give it a bad name.
The only people I hear talking about it in pubs for example are the town dysfunctionals. "Did you see what so-and-so said last night?", "I never thought he/she/it was like that", "She's changed her status to single" etc. etc.

I am allowing this thread to remain, FOR NOW, to give JDM a chance to reply should they wish to.

I urge people not to just jump on this to stick the knife in, if they have nothing worthy/relevant to add.

I will also point other mods to this tomorrow, when I am not trying to get to bed, to get their views on whether the thread stays or goes.

Just an extra note, to somebody, and I'm sure they will know who they are. I was on here briefly earlier, dealing with something else in a different section and I didn't even know the two threads were going in this section as I had barely been on any length of time. My computer crashed and by the time I got it back up and running, I had to send an e-mail somewhere regarding my life away from SN, once back on here, I quickly responded to what I had been dealing with, then saw an RTM about these two threads, and have dealt with them as quickly as I could. I would appreciate it, if it wasn't just assumed that I was 'risking' anything, just because I hadn't actually seen the threads at that point in time.

i dont see the issue anyhow, he paid for parts - facebook seller said they posted it, then said they resent it, never arrived, buyer got money back from paypal

so facebook seller is the only one out of pocket if indeed he did send two lots of parts!

But yes. I don't think it was a Windows problem though. I think, and I don't know for sure, that my laptop over heated and decided to turn itself off.

What do you think about that then Lisa? I think he's saying that you're not doing your job properly.

This problem had been going on for years, there are a number of threads about this same thing. Admin have been told and they are still selling here, it's not only on Facebook. About 2 years ago I bought a set of legacy headers and a set of legacy morettes from Darren, the headers weren't worth fitting and I got scrap money for them. The mortettes didn't arrive, after 6 months of calls and excuses (the same ones which are still being used 2 years later, he must be very unlucky finding that many rubbish couriers!!!) I finally got a refund!! It's a fair warning, but it won't do any good, they will just change the name again on Facebook and be left to sell here still.

I wouldn't put it like that myself, but scooby net prioritising revenue streams over protecting members, definatly.

This post a load of rubbish no one has been scammed and its nothing to do with jd motorsport. The whole episode on facebook was down to a miss understanding.Iam not saying iam perfect things happen when selling used parts and posting heavy things with couriers daily but i always offer refunds and i would not scam anyone.I have been a member on here since 2001

Before I get myself in trouble I should just say that I am joking (with regards to this ).

Of course the administrator's need to look to see if any wrong doing has occurred but there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. The op and scooblet IMO are looking for blood and things need to be dealt with some level of sensitivity to ensure a trader is not unfairly punished.

You got your money back so lesson learnt.

Just one thing. Lisa is not a SN Admin! She is a moderator who gives her time for free to moderate us horrible lot!

This thread and its contents does need to be discussed and dealt with by an admin and not a moderator as ultimately the responsibility over these sort of accusations and their publication on SN rests with them!

Ergo this is one for Stu and IB to deal with as I am sure they will as Lisa will have passed this thread's details to them!

Not having a go at you, just making sure you understand the distinction between moderators and admins!
