Default Ever seen a component setup like this?

Hi all,

What would be the pros and cons for the mounting the components on the dash like shown in these images:

RX8 with Focal Components

I am really interested in this type of setup for my Impreza as this would prevent any sound getting blocked by the door panel so I want to attempt it on my own car. The enclosures are available quite easily so all I need to do is make some brackets that would hold the components down tightly.

I want to know what you guys think.

You're better off asking on an audio site but it's obviously for a better sound quality. A lot/most sql cars run similar set ups.

ill be honest it does look ****ee, like hes just stuck them on the Dash. But with regards to Music, if you want something good, then get bespoke caged made that make it look proper like.

I must admit its where Subaru fall down, they really should at least offer some new setup like the Germans do.

Audi= Bang and Olufson and Bose
Merc= Harman Kardon
BMW= More of the Same
Vauxhall= Infinity and Bose
VW= Dyn Audio.

Subaru= Goodmans

Yes but you dont buy a subaru for SPL or SQ, in a BMW or Merc you may do.....

If you do consider an audio setup opt for a dolby 5.1 or 7.1 system... With a centre speak in the dash, a friend of mine has done this iin his Nismo 600R R33.... Why i dont know with the weight of 2x 15 jl audio subs, 3 amps and 7 speakers is a little excessive to me....

Tbh I prefer the steering wheel to be on the right.

(Oh - and the pedals too).
