Hi all
I have the 12 digit engine number of a 2.0 CDB
Does anyone know if the year of and/or car type can be deduced from the engine code.
Do the numbers mean anything?

I am not after the VIN number information.
But if an engine can be traced to a year /type of car via its 12 digit engine number as stamped on the back of the block.

Not via the obvious VIN number information.

 

What's the number on your engine ??
