Anyone know this Type R
Ticking all the boxes for me on the face of it, but a very long way for me to travel, so any points / knowledge pertaining to this car would be gratefully welcomed.
Many thanks in advance!

Trouble is I've not got alot to search on, not come up with anything yet!
Spoke to the owner, sounds like a decent chap but has no receipts from the rebuild (done by a mate) so wandering if I go up what to look out for?
Cheers!

I don't want to be too downbeat but my philosophy is to be as cynical and questionning as possible. If those answers then satisfy me I'm happy.
First, I don't like ads that gloss everything up.
First glance, a 2008 Subaru for £5,950 - absolutely amazing !!
Er, no - it's an MY97 Subaru (thinks 'advertiser's being a bit crafty here')
Next it's a Type UK.
Er, no - the ad says it was imported in 2008 (thinks 'advertiser's trying to imply that the insurance will not be loaded because it's an import but if someone naive buys it they could be non-covered if insured under a wrong description').
So, is it a Type R then ?(I don't know, but I'm suspicious enough to want absolute proof that it is).
78,000 miles - on a 17 yr old car ? (That's low - couldn't possibly be 78,000 since import could it - that would be about right ie. 12k/yr)
And if it is a genuine 78K then what on earth happened to the engine for it to be rebuilt at that young an age ?
A turbo from a well respected member of the Subaru fraternity - so why not have it mapped there as well, and then dyno'd for good luck ?
A lot of these questions can be answered and supported by documents - are there any?
I'd at least like to see a dyno - it costs the guy perhaps £50 or so and would be well worth it if he wanted to nail a sale.
You'd know if other parts of the ad added up ie. that it was 330bhp etc.
I'm not saying whether to buy it or not.
I'm suggesting that you might need verifiable answers before committing yourself.
There might be an SN member in that aprt of the world who would do a quick once-over for you, you never know.
