Default Road tax price.

I realise this has been done to death but I'm looking for a definitive answer.im currently in the process of registering my car in the uk which I have just shipped in from Cyprus.its a 2002 Jdm bug sti.im wondering how much the tax will be on this as I'm reading different things mainly with it been registered after a certain date.does that mean when it was first registered or registered in this country?also my Cypriot v5 has no indications of emissions levels?im reading that some people have paid up to and around the £400 mark which is crazy,I'm having enough trouble trying to find a standard exhaust to get it through its first mot with out a crazy tax price but I guess that's the joys of owning a car like this, thanks in advance for any help, cheers,Ryan.

Thanks for the replys, yeh it's a 2 litre sti and private light goods opposed too what other?i had asked a garage to sort it all out for me but as soon as they seen a de-cat exhaust they just wanted money for that instead of doing the registration paperwork which I had asked them to sort so the car was swiftly removed from them and is now sat on my drive way while I try and get it sorted.thanks again,Ryan.

Some imported cars are /were registered without CO2 figures, so couldn't be put in a normal tax bands as the rest of us, hence the were put in PLG tax band.
