insurance claim with decat
Hi guys, unfortunately I crashed my beleoved sti over the weekend and Is pretty much written off.
I have declared all mods including a 'performance exhaust system'.
Problem is the exhaust is actually a full turbo back de cat system, also with aftermarket headers.
Will the insurance still pay out if they see the system is full decat? I have at at least declared it on the insurance so am in two minds.
I don't have a cat to put back on, but if anyone who reads this has one for sale, please pm me.
Any advice much appreciated
Cheers

Sorry to hear that! Hope you are okay and no one was injured.
I know the square root of FA about these things but this is an Internet forum so it is my right to post what I think
I'd suspect as you have declared exhaust modifications that will cover any modifications to the system including cat changes. There are some insurance guys on here who will hopefully be able to lend their experience but even if it isn't covered and your policy is technically void, they'll have to look pretty hard to spot it.
There are a lot of Imprezas out there and the assessors will be checking the car over to make sure it generally fits the description of what they think it is rather than going through every part with a magnifying glass.
