What made you enter Subaru ownership?
For me Subaru's and Evo's have always been the cars to aspire to, loads of power in a 4 door saloon, that looks desirable, and sounded beastly. When they first came out there wasn't much that could touch them in these area's
Started swaying towards the Evo 5, untill i bought a Impreza none turbo, which looked amazing although lacking in power and handling, then bought V1 WRX very impressed, and off i went, don't think i'd ever be interested in an evo now, i'd miss my burble

The all-round performance, and from a saloon.
Last 2 cars I had before my first scooby were Saab 900 Turbos.
Looks don't prevent some clown taking you on, looks don't make a car faster or handle better.
And looks don't reduce risks, possibly even to the extent of saving lives.
Scoobies do all bar one of those

For me it was a number of things which pushed me towards buying an Impreza, i love the whole Rally scene image which the Impreza gives out as well as the great sound and performance. As i do a lot of fishing i need something fairly practical with a decent boot to fit my gear in and nothing came close to the practicality and performance that the Impreza has for the money you pay.

I have been into VW and BMW for years, but bought a nissan 300zx to play with from a mate, then when my daily died i decided that a change of scenery would be good, my friend kyle (porky_wrx) convinced me to get a subaru, and i dont regret it 1 bit

It was something silly that got me in to Subarus.
About 7 or 8 years ago I was after getting either an Evo or a Skyline and needed boot space and when a local garage got a skyline in I looked in the boot. I was like WTF!! How small! lol. He happened to have a 555 Impreza there at the time and so I looked in the boot and it was a good size, so the Impreza replaced the Skyline on my list, I just had to get my hands on one with no spare cash and just a Saxo VTR to either swap or sell.
I found a bloke on Ebay who fancied a swap with his UK white wagon, so I drove all the way to Birmingham and swapped. I'm now on my 4th classic Impreza and enjoy the driving experience, the noise and the heads turning as you drive down the road lol.
I have had other cars between the Impreza's but always seem to be drawn back to them, even with the biggest dog I have at present

About 12 years ago I went to test drive a Supra Twin Turbo at an importers in Southampton docks. Took it out but really didn't like it (hated the wrap around dash and the seating position in general), so the salesman said he had a Skyline GTS single turbo in stock and pushed me to try that. I wasn't really impressed to be honest and it was a really horrible metallic burgundy which really put me off. In order to get the Skyline out he had to move an Impreza (which had been sold but was waiting on documents). After bringing the Skyline back I enquired about the Impreza to be told it was not for sale but they could easily import one for me if I liked it, so I took it out for a spin and enjoyed it a lot.
We went into the office and looked at the list for the next auction where I picked out a couple of 1995 Silver WRX's for them to bid on for me with a maximum of Ł8000 to spend including importing and registering in the UK. Won the first one (my favourite with Speedline ST2's fitted) for Ł6000 all in, so very happy - just then had to wait for 5 month for it to arrive and pick it up!

It was 1995 and I was driving down the A682 out of Burnley in my mildly modded Corolla GTi... a red Jap wagon with funny foglights and a bonnet scoop edged out of a side road in front of me and then to my amazement went for it. I was about to put the brakes on, a bit p1ssed he had chosen to pull out and impede my progress, when the thing took off like a scalded cat with no hint of a slide despite starting the manouvre on full lock..... WTF was that I wondered????
Got a car mag and tracked it down. Test drove one and ordered a new one there and then. Had 5 over the next 17 years and I'd be back in one today if the wagon was a bit bigger.

I got into subaru ownership after seeing them on tv and then through a mate who used to own one, I have always liked fast cars in general I went from 2 ford escorts (my first 2 cars) to a Renault 5 GT Turbo (spent more time being repaired than driven) wife made me get rid, so went to my local days after being told by a mate who worked they had a car they had taken in part x that was rapid car turned out to be a rover 220 gsi turbo took it for a spin I loved it the wife didn't like it so we ended up leaving with a blue 1.6 escort finesse (brand new left thinking how the F**k did that happen) then one of my mates bought a Toyota mr2 t-bar turbo and my other mate bought a Scooby I went out in both quite a few times and loved them both and thought I need a quick car again so put my foot down with her indoors (one and only time I have lol) and started looking for a turbo powered car not bothered what it was, looked at a few mr2 turbos, Evo's, supras etc then found a car on auto trader which had a pic of a Volvo but a write up about a Scooby phoned the guy went to see it and fell in love with the noise and power ended up buying it on the spot a uk classic turbo 2000 standard 8 years later and a few bhp more lol and that was my car until march this year until I bought my current car a uk Blobeye wrx sti after much fumbling between the darkside or another Scooby and the burble won and although I miss my Classic the raw feel etc I love my Blobeye especially after she has just been modified and remapped but to be honest any Scooby makes me smile in a strange way lol.

Grew up watching Colin McRae and playing rally games on the first play station. When I was a kid and I saw an impreza I would just stand n stare thinking wow a rally car! Fast forward to 2011 and my dad and I had a few laps round Silverstone at ford fair in his mk6 RS2000 and the track bug was bit! For Xmas my mum got us both ariel atom experiance sessions at bruntingthorpe. After that the search for 300 bhp light weight car for budget began. After a fair bit of searching my dad came across a v2 type RA. He went and picked up the car and by the time it came it sounded like a sewing machine. After a year of Laying under it rebuilding it with my dad it finally hit the road after a mappin session with duncan I took my first drive out init. Instantly fell in love with the burble the turbo pull. Watching the bonnet scoop as I drove along. I said to my self I need one!!! I couldn't get insured on a modified import. So I started looking round for my own standard uk car to build up some experience so as of April this year I baught a 2001 WRX wagon. And I love it. It's my daily drive. Enough punch for fun. Yet still practical...ish. Hopefully within a year or so I might be in a postion to go STI or start a Mental wagon project who knows. But I'll never tire of that flat four rumble.

On passing my test back in 2000 I got in my 1.0 popular mk3 fiesta with a cherry bomb on it, that there is enough to want something else!!
Anyway I've always liked the look of Imprezas since seeing them in the rally.
Then one day I'm flat out up the d road in the 1.0 and this car came down the slip road, I moved over then all hell broke loose. This impreza took off. The noise was awesome.
I had forgot about subaru until this happend and have been watching my insurance come down for over 10 years.. Bought one at last nearly 3 years ago, still got it and it's still awesome

My next door neighbour worked in car finance and came home in one for the weekend, here you go mate have a ride round in this for an hour. 1 week later bought a new 03 plate WRX Blobeye with PPP. Next came the STI9 then the type r then the S202.
I reckon that him coming home in that car has cost me in the region of Ł20,000 and that doesn't include buying them. Would I change anything, would I ****.

Was 2002 and I had a Pug 106 GTi at the time, and my dad kept laughing at how much money I was spending on it to make it faster.
He then said why dont you buy something fast to start off, like those Subaru Impreza's I see driving around, I was 19 at the time so Insurance was a problem, But he kind of talked me into it and I ended up buying a MY00 Turbo 2000 not long later, and been hooked ever since.
So I blame my dad for getting me into Impreza's!!!

I never had any interest in Subarus, but I wrote my Mondeo off in the snow back in 2007. So to replace it I had the idea to buy some kind of estate car, but one with a bit of grunt, so Audi 3 series perhaps or maybe a scooby wagon. Went to the local Subaru dealer to test drive a wagon, and to my horror it was a absolute pig, and no performance to speak of. I told the salesman exactly what I thought of his car. He told me that the wagon wasn't a turbo model and suggested that if I wanted something quicker I should try the 2002 WRX he had there.
So I did.
The rest, as they say, is history. I had that WRX for a year and moved up to my STi.

The original road legal rally giant killer (and one of the most successful rally cars of all time)
So have always been a fan of cars with rally heritage, loved the impreza's since they started to be imported in the early 90's - i loved the unpretentious "everyman" quality about them, surbaru just focused on making it, well "focused" - could never really afford one until I bought an MY2000 Turbo Wagon a few years ago loved it, but hated the MPG

I drove a Celica GT4 Carlos Sainz as a daily driver on my 100-mile daily commute. It looked nice, was great in wet weather, but it wasn’t fun and the dog wasn’t too happy under the hatch on weekend outings.
I drove past my local Subaru dealer every day. ‘Car’ magazine, my monthly motoring bible, had raved about the Impreza for a few years.
I stopped in one morning on a day-off to enquire about a test drive.
“Here”, said the salesman, “take the keys to the green ’96 turbo wagon. Bring it back in an hour or two.”
That was July 1999. They’ve had my trade for 15 years.
