245/35/18
As the title really. I'm looking to to use 245/35/18 tyres on the track and was wondering if anybody else was using this size, or even on the road?
My car (narrow track blob sti) has been lowered a fair bit, but the arches have been rolled and will be set up for the track with a decent amount of camber. The wheels I want to use are 18x9 et35 so I know it's going to be close
Cheers

It seems that there is not alot of members who run that size,it should be fine though as long as you can get them to fit without any rubbing,it must be the cost for decent make tires at that size, they would be quite expensive.SJ.

That's my concern. I don't mind paying a little bit extra for tyres if they give me the grip and fitment I want, but I'd be highly pissed off if they caught the arches and I couldn't use them

Hi there
We run on our wagon 255/40 R17 with 9JX17" without the issue, yes we are raised at back bit ride height, because they started to rub in very tight corners on track or on the road
And about the 245/35 R18,we run Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 245/40 R18 too on the track on our wagon and we are never have any issue with rubbing as above we are raised bit ride height at back to be just sure
Wagon is bit more narrower than yours STI and you shouldn't have any issue with 245/35 R17 at track with right camber and ride height
Thanks,Jura

Thanks for the info Jura but, the reason I'm asking if they'll fit is because I want to get the car set to a height I'm happy with looks wise then get it corner weighted and hope it isn't adjusted too much. I obviously don't want to do that then be raising it for a track day.
What was the offset of the wheels you were using with the 245/40/18's?

Our car has been raised at back I think just one inch which is not so much,I would suspect if car will be slammed or will be very lowered then you will have issue with rubbing mainly at back in corners or when you will be going through the speed bumps/sleeping policeman
You will see how this will be going, but I would suspect you will need adjust them at least bit at back,in our case on wagon we are needed to raise ride height,on saloon/sedan not sure, but I know friend have fitted 245/40 R18 with Rota Grid Drift 9.5JX18 ET38 and he raised at back too one inch, because he have rubbing at back
We run on 245/40 R18 Grid Drift 9.5JX18" with ET38 and XXR 530 8.75X18" ET20
Hope this helps there
Thanks,Jura

I would say on yours you will need bit raise at rear, maybe inch would help
Here is how it looks previously on our wagon
Sometimes very lowered car on track is not the best idea,we are several times adjusted ride height to find best ride height, please speak with Chevron or other companies which knows track day setup more than those at wheel alignment centers
Thanks,Jura

thanks for the pics. I'd rather use a narrower tyre than run it at that height though
I might just buy a set of cheap tyres in the size I want and have a play to see if I could make it work

This is the height the walls should be , give or take a fraction for diff manufacturer's
245/35 - 85.75mm
225/40 - 90 mm
245/40 - 98 mm
235/45 - 105.75 mm
Giving how low you want the car to sit
Suspension may have to be altered freq ,
Regards mic

I have a feeling that with a little bit of camber I'll be ok, but we'll see

As I've said,we run 245/40 and 255/40 on the wagon and on the saloon/sedan you shouldn't need to do raise ride height, but you will see how you get on
My friend run 245/40 on his STI and he raised just inch at rear, but he didn't run aggressive camber,he run just -1.3 at back/rear,we run only -1.5 at back/rear,with higher camber at back you should get away with it
Do you know what tyres you want to run on the track days?
On the pictures you will see difference between the AD08R and Vredestein, both are 245/40,but seems AD08R have higher/bigger sidewall than Vredestein
But in yours case you are thinking to run 245/35,please have look on the first picture, there wagon sits on the 245/35 Continental ContiSport
Thanks,Jura

With regards to which tyres I want to use, it depends on ^^^^ and which I can get for reasonable money. I'm not set on any particular make/model
Thanks for the info
