Default Is this STi (hawkeye) too cheap?

Seems to be a bit of a bargain, and nothing jumps out as being dodgy.

Are they less desirable then? I suppose the colour would put people off too.

No they are just a bit more discreet than a standard sti. The d stands for discreet, smaller spoiler and leather interior. Its like a sti for grown ups. lol

I almost purchased that one!

It doesn't have proof of belt change so factor that in as well.

comes with 2 sets of wheels as well

Why would a silver car put people off?

The Spec D's are slightly less popular but they have a pleasant interior and a decent stereo. They apparently benefit from a bit more soundproofing but still have the acquired taste setup of the standard UK Hawk.

I had one

Yeah it's a strange one the spec d, you do see some cheap one such as this one but I suspect people just want a sti badge on the back but could argue it's a better car than the sti.

For what it's worth, we loved ours. Did a 3000 mile Euro trip in it and visited the 'Ring etc.

Would have another in a heartbeat. The best car I've owned overall.

its just a visually tamed down sti, with leather seats and black carpets

for me it was a no brainer- 6k for a 50k spec d or 9-10k for a blue sti only difference was spoiler and seats!!!

Make sure you get a comprehensive 1yr warranty which will give you time to save up for the rebuild.

I have a Spec D with PPP, Good laugh when people mistake it for a WRX.

Mind you, the leather interior isn't exactly up to German standards.

The garage is selling it on behalf of someone else so it will have a 3 month warranty with it and I had to ask to get that if I purchased it. Guy who owns it owns a local tyre shop and has had it for last 5 years.

Except for the gold wheels and the STI badge and the keyless entry and not registered as a Spec D only a STI....

Description also looks as if it is from a STI as opposed to Spec D

Internally, it looks OK though so probably is.

They are complete bargains. Most by now will have had a head gasket replaced on them. Great for a daily driver that doesn't attract too much attention but still a hoot to drove especially with a Bob Rawle map in it

The brochure tagged them as "Screaming performance, whispering looks" and I'd say it sums it up perfectly.
