Default Advice on buying JDM STI, Bad trader Reviews

Morning

Basically this is my first post on here, I have been looking into a STI recently due to a few reasons but mainly because i fancy another Jap car and my mate has bought one and i really like it..

Sooo, Iv been looking and I spotteed this:

http://www.cheshireperformance.co.uk...cd-gearbox.htm

Iv been emailing Mike and all seems well and iv read good reviews on his site.

Iv just signed up on here and relise its quite the opposite

Im looking to go up and have a look at it but its a long drive and now im thinking i dont want to risk it if they are really bad customer servive especially on a imported Jap car it could be a mine field.

Please dont buy from there ,,, multiple tales of woe appear on here from people that do ,, cheshire seem to have found a way to get them removed or you would be able to read a lot about how bad they are

They seem to buy any scooby then whack a huge markup on it and sell it on - thats fine and some cars they buy and sell are very nice but many are dogs with issues which wouldnt be a major issue if they resolved problems professionally but they dont seem to as stated by numerous unhappy customers on here

You know if you own the site, you can input as many good reviews as you want?

There has also been removed threads about Cheshire Performance, but there are a couple still alive, most recently further down this page.

The price for that car is also far too high.

I am someone who is sympathetic towards traders and can understand there are two sides to every story. My advice a little while back would of been to go and see them and make your own mind up, not to let the forums do it for you.

In the case of Cheshire performance however I would stay clear, there are too many examples and posts with storys of bad after care and cars being sold with problems.

Here are the only two traders that I would bother with myself http://www.hurstcars.co.uk/ http://torque-gt.co.uk/ there is no doubt other good ones but you will be hard pressed to find people saying a bad thing about these two, top top traders.

the cars are over priced way higher than the price they bought them for, pictures and write ups make the cars out as being immaculate but in person they are a different story.. ive been twice to look at a couple of cars and why I went back after the first trip is beyond me.

hold onto your money mate and keep looking

I did think it was expensive but I was actually prepared to pay the premium due to the fact is was low milage "Immaculate" and i couldn't find another one but theres no way I'm risking it, I used to own a Nissan S15 and I had so much hassle I'm over cautious now. No rush I guess

Seems half the high spec and atractive looking scoobys on piston heads are advertised by Cheshire Performance, where do they find them?
