Ha cheers people to be honest I do usualy go faster around there but there was alot of traffic today,
iv had a propper look now and the sign post that I forgot to mention... :/ has pushed the rear quarter in a bit so wont be a cheap fix unfortunately.. I had my 3 year old son hayden have a look too and he seems too think its an easy fix and "handy manny" (kids program) would help me lol.
he can always cheer me up.
anyone know if claiming on insurance would render it cat D ? and if it would make my premium go up although I have protected no claims ??

Personally, if it's not too bad damage wise then I'd get a quote for fixing any metal and paint work. Insurance will most likely add something to the cars file and bump up your premium.
But saying that, my mate had £5000 worth of damage to his Seat Leon, basically being sandwiched between two cars and writing off the front end. Claimed it on insurance and they repaired it, yet the car's history shows absolutely nothing.. scary really !!

Depends on how much the inspecting engineer values your car and how much the repairs will cost.
The Premium and No Claims Discount are not the same thing. The Premium will be calculated annually, and the presence of a non-recoverable (IE the insurer has made a payment for something and no one to recover from) will have an effect. Then your No Claims Discount is applied to the cost giving you the final total you'll be charged. Will your premium go up? Maybe. No one knows until renewal time as there are so many factors in the calculation.
