Default What is this Type R worth?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/subaru/impreza-sti/subaru-impreza-sti-type-r-v-limited-new-engine/2933957

I went and viewed it on Saturday and it is as mint as it looks in the pics.

I know its only worth what someone will pay, guy says he had it up for 14k and has now lowered by 3k so the price is non-negotiable, i did tell him he wont get that for it.

Also with it being on Irish plates it would need to b registered here and i dont know whats involved in that.

Question is would u pay that for it and if not what price should it be?

With those miles and totally basterdized I would say in the region of £7/8k if you really really want it, personally I would look for something else as with £11k you could get a very serious weapon, that has aftermarket ecu, AP's or similar, 6 speed, and the list goes on and on.

The guy is a dreamer, he may have put a lot of money into it with the engine but paint and polish doesn't make it an £11k car.

You're also right about the number plate thing, I bought a bike in Japan and had it shipped to Dublin so I could drive down and pick it up (I live in Belfast). First it stopped off in Southampton and was then forwarded to Dublin. But I didn't realise I had to pay customs duty to get it out of Ireland and back in to the UK!

I should add, getting it registered in the UK wasn't too bad. I had to get a letter from Honda confirming its age and model as the Japanese paperwork wasn't present. Other than that, MOT, insurance and tax in place and I was issued a UK number plate pretty quickly. MOT can be booked on a chassis number alone and insurance can be arranged for 7 days on a chassis number. This was enough time to get the number plate and tax sorted out.

If this car was ever registered in the UK before, that means the import duty had already been paid and there should be no difficulty in getting it back on UK plates. If not, be prepared to pay duty at 20% of the value. You could, if you buy it, have a receipt written to a much lower value to save on duty. I may or may not have done this myself with the bike I bought lol.

You're right, good stuff! My fees were because I was importing from outside the EU.

All the Ver 6 Limited cars have WRC on the numbered plate on the console, it's a misnomer.

But I agree, he's dreaming.

He said that he bought it here then when he got back to Ireland he registered it over there so it was originally on uk plates.

I dont think ill b buying it anyway, he isnt prepared to drop the price at all, funny how there is now 3 others interested! Lol.

He was emailing me from a different email to the one in the advert so something not quite adding up for me, also when i went to view he wanted to meet at a local petrol station, said he was working and didnt have time to go home, says he works for BMW and used to work for Prodrive, didnt like meeting at a petrol station at all tbh.
