TIME ATTACK @ brands hatch, IM GIVING IT AGO!
Evening all, with being a Subaru owner i thought I just share with everyone that Im entering in the last time attack event this year @ brands hatch on Saturday.
I'm in the club 4wd class so hence being able to use my road car that I use for track days.
A good friend mike chalk from MCR specialist cars kindly sponsored me for his company name on the car which I think looks in keeping for the event.
The rough plan is to drive the old girl doen there and get amongst the action then after the day event go in the night time attack aswell.
If anyone is doen at brands come and say hello as the support will be greatly appreciated.
Here is the car.
Many thanks Chris

Best of luck Chris, I'll be following the live timing with great interest.
It'll certainly test the limits of that 92,000 mile old stock STi engine, lol.

Love this guy's attitude to his sport. He isn't afraid to take the sort of risks that leave others as mere spectators. We'll be hoping he has a great time, regardless of outcome!
My advice? don't cut Paddock Hill bend, the apex is late and drops like a stone.

Never ceases to amaze me that car.
82 laps today and all it breaks is a CV joint

Evening all,
The car today performed spot on as usuall for what it is.
The first two session were like An ice rink with it just sliding everywhere when you hit the loud pedal. Then the 3rd session was qualifying which it dried up a little to get a feel for what to push in the final.
Final came and it was full chat and everything it had and more. Defiantly 434 horse was a big restriction but even so I managed to do a 56 second lap which considering Damien Bradley did a high 52 Nd dave Coe did a high 53 second, I though she did well for a car a drove there.
Night time attack came and it was mega greasey, super fun tho with sideways / 4 wheel wheel spin all over he shop.
Steady feeler In the first session then in the second started to press on but then a fun hamster wheel squeeking started.
Came in checked it all over but could t find Anything up.
Out in the final session and after 2 flying laps it got worse so decided to pack in.
Loaded the car up and and got about 3 miles out of brands and the cv joint gave out, so the. It was a steady jaunt home with some funny noises but it got me back. Great day and defiantly an Awesome event to enter.
Cheers 👍

Well done Chris, car looked well turned out, funny to hear 430 odd brake being a restriction but that's Time Attack for you I guess! I'm guessing the rear seat/spare wheel etc in the middle of one of the garages was yours lol
How did you find the night sessions, I saw you going into paddock hill a few times on and off the brakes, wondered if you were struggling to see your braking point, it was very dark!! Or perhaps it was due to your issue mentioned above. A couple of the cars looked very well prepared for the night, the Mosler and Dave Coe's Impreza spring to mind, and also the new Mini.
Anyway top effort, wouldn't of guessed you were a rookie from what I saw :-)

You've only got to look at the speed trap data to see where the big power guys gain so much time. David Coes car was 18mph faster over the finish line.
