Default Anyone tried Wynns Hydraulic Valve/Lifter Treatment???

Hi all,

Was thinking of getting a bottle of this to see if it quietens my wrx down a little on cold starts.....To be honest I am not expecting alot but I wondered more if its safe to use in our sort of engines?

Also any experiences of people using this would be awesome.

Thanks
Tom

Ive used it on other marques in the past to try and sort sticky lifters with good resullts, if your engine has piston slap when its cold i doubt itll sort that, if it is sticky lifter try some engine flush and an oil change it may cure it that way, i dont think id be too keen using it in a scooby engine with how sensitive the bottom end bearings are.

how long has yours been noisy on cold starts, if only recently it could be due to the colder weather trying a slightly thinner oil may help too.

My blob wrx was running 10w40 semi synthetic castrol from last service before I bought it, just changed oil to 5w40 fully synthetic and the engine is no longer 'tappety' on cold starts and much smoother, so above advice is good.
