Lassa tyres
Has anyone heard of LASSA tyres? I was speaking with the guy in the mot station who said they are made by bridgestone and they have a 12 month guarantee!! They do look pretty good.

I asked because the guy in the garage said they were made by bridgeston. I also seen good reviews on pistonheads.
I'm not going to put them on my car as I have toyos which I'm quite happy with.
If they were ok I would have tried them on my daily.

Probably made under license for Bridgestone for some Chinese crowd for an entirely different market. I.E Budget.
If it was my daily driver, I'd want good tyres, not cheap crap ones as I'm spending more time in the car.
The MOT guy was probably asked to push sales on them.

I think you are right bridgestone are there somewhere but in my opinion the lassa tyres are made for a budget market like lingalonga ones etc. and i would not fit a lassa tyre on a wheelbarrow never mind a car.

They won't be going on any of my cars then. That's why I asked here. They're obviously pushing these with the fact that bridgestone have something to to with them and people are buying them for that reason.

I wasn't intening buying these. It just got me thinking because of the bridgestone connection. As above they wouldn't go near my impreza and now reading this they won't go near my other car either

I have used uniroyal rain sports in the past and was pleasantly surprised at the performance and longevity

I'm not wanting to go against the general grain of this thread, but unlike most of you, I actually have some, and they're really not as bad as you're all making out.
Firsty - Lassa tyres are made in Turkey, not China.
I did quite a bit of reading about them due to having them on my Turbo 2000 - not fitted by me, but by my Uncle, who owned the car before me. They're not a brand I would have chosen to fit, and I was expecting them to be bad, but I've genuinely not got any complaints.
In the past I've been quite picky about tyres - I had Toyo T1R's fitted to my MK1 MX5 and really hated them, especially in the wet. The Uniroyal Rainsport 2's I replaced them with were much better. However, the Lassa's on the Impreza seem surprisingly OK, even now when they're getting a bit low on tread. I'm sure there are much better tyres out there, but these really aren't as bad as everyone is making out.

I don't get why people save costs on things like tyres

they work perfectly well for him.
If I drive a bog standard wrx and I drive like a normal person and
not a rally driver do I really need to spend £120-150 a corner?

At the time my Uncle bought them, he was doing less than 1,500 miles a year in the car. He'd owned the car since 1998 when it was a year old, but it was now a 2nd car and was mainly used for trips to Tesco or taking stuff down the tip! In fact, he'd covered less than 10,000 miles in the 5 years before I bought it off him.
Now I'm not saying that they're great tyres and that everyone must rush out and buy them because they'll outgrip Pirelli P-Zeros (or whatever flavour tyre is favourite of the month today!), but I've had the car for the last 18 months expecting them to be awful to mediocre at best, and have done 15,000 miles on them during that time and I genuinely haven't managed to find a justifiable reason to replace them yet. When I do come to replace them, I'll probably buy something mid-range, but as far as budget tyres go, I really can't complain about them.
I think the ones I have fitted are Lassa Impetus Revo's which compared to the other Lassa tyres on TyreReviews, do seem to score better than most of the other models they make.
So, in answer to the OP's question: Yes I've heard of them, I have them fitted to my Impreza, and as far as budget tyres go, then one's I have seem pretty reasonable (to me, at least!).
Oh, and to clarify my "Made in Turkey" comment earlier, Lassa tyres have been manufactured by BRISA Bridgestone Sabanci Tire Manufacturing and Trading Inc in Turkey since 1989.
