I wouldn't be surprised if that's been crashed before. Would have thought it'd take a hell of a hit to tear the front end clean off at the firewall.

No mention of any other vehicles involved, and no images of any vehicles other than this one, plus no mentioned of any other people except one adult and two children

Does make you wonder what happened

No doubt driving too fast and beyond his talent level, on a damp road with ling long tyres. Back end starts to let go, he panics and loses control then hits a tree or such like.

Very lucky people, i'm glad they all escaped alive.

There was a classic that had a crash where i live last year, the car just fell to bits when it crashed and unfortunately everyone in the car died.

Could it be that classics are just not as strong as modern cars? I know they are a lot lighter than new ages, could that be reflected in the strength of the cars too?

I had a high speed crash in a new age (bug) and the bug saved my life, i jumped out with just a tiny bit of whip lash, the car was a Cat B, and didn't survive :-(

Looks too clean a break for me as well. Is the driver's door a different shade of green or just open slightly and reflecting the light differently ?

Been to hundreds of RTC's and never seen a single vehicle accident look like that... something not right about it. The chassis legs have just sheared off. Even if it was side swiped at the front the amount of force would have normally taken the side of the car in as well not just cut the front off. Would be interesting to hear how it happened!

Am I right in thinking classics did not have any crash approval rating at all? The only thing I could find was that "a survey" based on accidents found that the classics were averagely safe. But that was on a scale or below average, average, better then average and much better. So not great lol.

Was that the one where they hit the bus stop on the A406?? and newspaper reports saying that witnesses could hear the driver using NOS???

Agree 100%! Classics may not be the best cars to have a crash in, but they sure as hell don't shear in half with a nice clean break in to the bargain!

From SIOC:

Right, just got off the phone to chap who I sold Chameleon to. Glad him and his family is all ok. His gutted as much as I am, accident occurred as Dual carridgeway was flooded and aquaplaned spun and rolled it 5/6 times. It was a miracle!! He was at legal speed limit and car has been looked over and its NOT A CUT AND SHUT AS ALL YOU EXPERTS WERE GOING ON ABOUT! Luckily behind him, he had a police car and a off duty doctor so a very lucky chap! Here are some pics at police compound..

I saw a car spin through the air like a rugby ball then roll nose to tail about 3 times, amazingly every one got out ok, it was dark and it took me a moment to realise what I had just seen, the driver was obviously and drunk and lost it on a bend that looks a bit like the mountain at Cadwell but with some banking which launched the car in the air. I stopped and ran over expecting to see seriously injured people but they all got out, one girl was bleeding from the head and screaming but they were all fine, I have no idea how.

But hey that's Croatia, single biggest cause of death in under 30's is RTA.
