Default What cover?

Hi,
Any reccomendations for a car cover for my TypeR as its now going to be off road for up to a year and a half?. I'm not even sure if there is such a thing but is there one you drive over and zip up so it covers the bottom too?
I'm not looking at a car port/chamber or a capsule as these are obviously mega money.
Thanks

A garage.

Why off the road for so long, Al?

use a large tent if you want to cover it all the way, then just wrap it and tie it tight around your car

Not a bad idea a tent lol. I've got the wife's scenic now and she's got a brand new Punto. I've lost motivation at the moment as all I seem to be doing is fixing cars solidly for past year or so. Rather than chuck the towel in I'd rather get some debts paid off from the wedding and store the car for a bit. People struggle for ideas of what to get me for Xmas so thought a car cover might be an idea.
I gave the garage up as £10 a week was annoying me.

my mate just used a cheap large tent for his car when he did it,obviously a few cuts here and there are needed but all in all it worked a treat and the tent was second hand so only cost him about £30

It's got me thinking. I'm surprised there isn't a cover that has a base you can drive over so it's completely sealed, it wouldn't be much more expensive than a standard cover.

Where's it parked? Driveway?

Can you not knock up a lean to car port type thing, and use some tarpauling on exposed sides? Something like that will keep the worst of the weather off it, won't stop moisture in the air though.

There's a hardstanding in my back garden which is fenced off. It would be ideal for a car port for the future but it gets a lot of water and leaves in that area and I'd have to get the council round to talk drainage etc etc. There's a picture somewhere in my project thread when it was off road last year. But the idea is to spend very little.

*Just spoke to the mothier-in-law regarding a tent a she's into camping and she pointed out it would have to have a pretty big door to drive into.

I use a cover regular but an enclosed one would condensate, I brought a heavy duty PVC one what's cotton lined, think it was £50. I have looked at these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quictent-A...item58a4c0855a as it Allows some space to work on whilst the weather is pants, there are larger one for a few extra £££

A tent would not be fully water proof (I don't think)

Decent fully waterproof/breathable covers are surprisingly expensive - i have a shower proof cover for my Caterham 7 kit car - in severe weather I simply put a plastic sheet under it (the decorators disposable ones)

But it is garaged over the winter

Thanks for the input guys. The idea behind it is that my arches are rotting. If the underside is exposed to moisture then this would only get worse whilst it's sitting there.
I'm thinking maybe of buying 2 cheap covers, the first to drive onto and pull up over the underside of the car and the second to go over the top.
What could I expect condensation to do? That would be mainly inside I'd imagine? Any way of preventing that?

If it's fully covered? I know I can't reverse the process lol. But what would slow it down the most?

I think your doing the right thing pal. Once you stop enjoying something it's either. Time to walk away or put it down for a while and come back to it!
I've always seem people rave about storm force ones?

Thanks bud. I'll have a look at storm force ones. I've spent a year in the cold and rain fixing mine and the Mrs cars, just as ones sorted the other plays up. What with hers being brand new and under warranty I should never have to lift the bonnet. I now own the worst car I've ever worked on, the scenic, but it shouldn't need much doing seen as its only for me and my 4 mile commute.
