JDM Bug WRX I presume chap ??
That gearbox code was only used in that car but later blob JDM gearboxes will work, they'll just have a different code that's all.
Classic STI V5 and V6 box will also be fine and have the same ratios as his current one.

He bought a box off someone a leggy one but it didnt fit even though seller said it would

 

Some late leggy boxes will work as they share the same ratios but be careful as some use different final drive.

There a chart on Google somewhere in PDF form. Just do a search for impreza gearbox codes and have a look

Breaker sent him TY752VBCAA but garage said it doesnt fit i take it its the wrong box Heres a pic

All 5 speeds are interchangable although there are some differences

TY752 have 4 bolt casings, his TY754 will have 8
Speed sensors will need swapped over.

Apart from that, the TY752 will bolt to the newage block, gearbox cradle will fit, prop will fit.
