Widetrack Wipers

Widetrack Wipers
The time has come to look at replacing the wiper blades, so does anyone have any reccomendations for me?
Looked at the bosch ones as I had them on my last car and they seemed to perform well. I have seen that scooby world are selling some silicon dipped wipers but these are about £20 each which I thought was a bit excessive for wipers but if they are as good as they claim them to be I'd be tempted to give them a try?
Cheers

Silicone wipers are a gimmick. Good screen wash will help any wipers but people get blinded by the "expensive so must be good" thought process.
Michelin Flat Blades have been brilliant on the RA and they work out at £14 a pair in COSTCO.

I've just fitted the piaa silicon wipers. I got fed up with constantly changing Bosch blades because the would make an awful noise after a couple of months.
Yes they are expensive (they are full silicone not dipped) at £38 for the pair, but have read people's comments on here saying that they have been on the car for five years or more, so they will pay for themselves.
So far they do a brilliant job of wiping, and they are silent, can't hear them at all.

Just as a side note - for maximum efficiency, look to apply something like Rain X to your windows, that will be the most significant improvement you can see! Or, if you can afford the product and time, buy Gyeon View and that'll last for approximately two years. Polishing your glass with cerium oxide will greatly improve visibility, but I'd leave that to someone with experience.
PS - I drove to Bham last night (20~ miles) in the rain, and didn't need to use my wipers once due to Gyeon

Im on my second set of cheap flexi blades from ebay on my 05 blob. Honestly cant fault them at all and they come with little adapters to fit them in a few seconds. Great job and i think around £7 ish delivered so no big expense at all

Someone said earlier in the thread that they are just a gimmick.
Driving along at nsl speeds in light drizzle the rain spots do seem to disappear of their own accord.
When I washed the car last week, upon rinsing the windscreen I could see the difference in the way the water is repelled and dispersed on the area that is wiped by the blades, in comparison to the parts of the screen that isn't.

By the way, I don't have a widetrack just a lowly woman's WRX.

again they will not compare with real silicone wipers by PIAA.... just amazes me that the 2 things you should be spending real money on are good wipers so you can see out and the other is real tyres and yet someone wants to get wipers as cheap as poss and how many times do we see the word budget mentioned when discussing tyres....
just my opinions
