car wont start and misfires - stranded, please help
hey all
driving home last night. during acceleration the car lost all power at about 5000 rpm
after that i was rolling along. every time i tried to accelerate the car would go slower. the engine breaking would increase!
i rolled into a petrol station a few 100m away.
had a look under the bonnet and saw nothing wrong.
tired to restart the car and it did start after a few attempts. i managed to coax it home. just!
holding the throttle in a continuous place the car would run fine, however as soon as you opened it up at all it would splutter and misfire terribly for a couple seconds then start accelerating at the rate that you would expect for the throttle position.
today though i cant even start the car
sometimes it will idle for 2 seconds and then die but that's it.
dose anyone have any idea at all? it would be very greatly appreciated!!!!
im currently at my cousins about 100 miles away with limited tools. i cant get home atm or to work tomorrow

Of course not but it is impossible to diagnose this over the internet. It could be anything to be honest. But as said, fuel pump and plugs is the best place to start looking. Although you aren't going to be able to fix it tonight with limited tools.

Just checked your posts - your car running on gas might be useful info to mention
Also see you have recently been fettling with spark plugs etc ,, any chance something has worked loose or plug leads fallen off again ?

Same symptoms on mine. Paul at Zen fitted a new fuel pump and MAF for me and it solved the problems for him to be able to map it.
Now I've seen hiw simple they are to fit, it's definitely a DIY job.

But you still got a code come up. That still needs looking into. How much fuel did your gauge show that you had?
