Basically with v band is like two flanges clamped by a band, you will need to weld the flanges to the corresponding pipes. However, if your weldin is not great it be a lot easier to weld them on as you can overlap weld them onto the reducer and then make sure that everything is air tight so you dont get exhaust blowing once all installed.
If you just weld the reducer straight on it be prone to corroding and snapping
i hope that all makes sense or you can take it to a professional garage other than kwick fit to weld the bits together

oh sorry ignore the above, then just buy the flanges and weld them on and join it that way will also work sorry i thought the exhaust was like just a pipe ie snapped
why not get a 2.5" backbox then there be no headache

Also I bought a reducer 3" to 2.5" for some reason the the reducer pipe doesn't seem to fit in the 3" back box even thow there both 3" and ideas?
