Car parking dents
#1
You park a million miles away from any other cars in an empty car park and you can guarantee that some prat will park next to you and dent your kin door.
Anyway can anyone recommend a minor dent specialist or the like in the Hertfordshire area (Watford if possible)that could remove/repair some minor door dents(one with paint gone)
Any advice would be appreciated
Cheers

Tony,
Very strongly agree about the side protection strips. Two years on and no dents. In fact very few paint marks at all.
One down the side, bush induced I think, one on the front Levis Jeans stud I think, and one on the top of the rear spoiler martians I think.

Having had loads of company cars and not a scratch I've had the Terzo since Jan 01 and some ar$e has already managed to jam a door into the side.
I get some strange looks parking in the middle of the emptiest space in the car park but somebody will always come and park up along side with a *** paper gap!!!???
I was thinking of the side strips but I need somebody around High Wycombe - Uxbridge area to spray them the nice blue that I love so much.
Any ideas.
Thanks,
Ian.

The parking dent thing is the very worst thing about my car I HATE it!!
Could someone let me see a strip applied to the car does it look ok?? I suppose its better than dents but would like to see a piccy??
Also someone said somewhere that the ford strips used on mondeos are identical but half the price?? anyone any experience of that??
Pete

The side strips help (I've had them fitted to mine since new), but in many cases, they are too low. I have a lovely parking dent in my passenger side door about 2cm above the side strip and they don't stop them on the front wings (another nice parking dent, just in front of the indicator )

Give me a month and I'll have some nice pics to show you of side protection strips (colour coded) on a MY00. Ive looked into the Mondeo side protection strips, (these are made of a hard compound, therefore able to spray them - unlike the standard scooby ones which are too soft to spray)
I have yet to find out if the New Golf ones fit, I think that these look better will keep ya posted.

Thanks for all the replies - I looked at the side strips but in this case, I think that one of those high F..k off 4x4 did the damage as the dent is about two inches below the window recess.
Any more ideas

Park across two spaces may pi55 people off but keeps the dents away
Or always try and park next to a kerb or wall or something and leave the already dented side facing a car that way the good side won't get got

If you look at the profile of an Impreza door, the rubbing strips are of very limited value. Most square edge doors touch way above them.
As said, it is 4x4's (and vans, plus car rear doors because of the shape where they go round the wheel arch) that cause the most damage......

Your not wrong Dave but I'd still like to get some protection on the side colour keyed to the bod.
If anybody knows a $hit hot bod shop around Uxbridge please let me know.
Thanks.

Yep! Have to agree here. Whenever possible I park well away from other cars in car parks. (Always seem to end up with someone in some filthy heap or a kin Jeep thing parking next to me though!). Have done the two spaces thing, the next to the kerb or wall space, etc.
A warning - if you have no choice but to pull into a normal space, check out the cars next to you for baby or child seats. People in these cars (normally of the female variety) like to use your car as a door rest while they load & unload the kids. Worse still they bring their pushchairs up in between the cars.
On the subject of the side protectors, Chiark had a picture of his car on another forum a few weeks ago, his car has side protectors from Holland. They look quite cool & appear to have the Subaru logo on them.
