Default Headers / Harvey uppipe

Hi guys I have a 2007 STI and I bought some OEM ported headers and Harvey uppipe , took it to the garage this afternoon to get fitted and just got a voicemail from the garage saying "that there is no where to plug your lambda sensor into" I'm not sure if they mean from the uppipe or OEM headers, tried calling them back but they are closed now, I was just wondering if there is a way round this? Can they delete the sensor? Thanks in advanced for the info

Hi I have just found out that the sensor goes into the right hand side of the headers and the set I bought doesn't have this hole for the sensor , I think that the headers I bought must be from a earlier model ....

correct. the headers you have bought are from an earlier model. Did you buy them from AS performance? If so I'm sure alyn will exchange them for the correct headers for your model.

the headers were NOT bought from ourselves possibly s/hand.........

we always supply the correct fitment for the correct age

ALL new-age cars have the primary Lambda in the RHS collector

Hi that's correct there's nothing wrong with the Harvey up pipe , it's just the OEM headers that I bought second hand that does not have the hole for the lambda sensor. The car has been decated and is going for a remap next week so will I even need this sensor or can do without it? Thanks in advanced

you will still need the sensor.

The headers are cast iron as well, so you cannot even weld a boss on (well, you could, but it's not straight forward).

Perhaps you could get the garage to weld a boss onto the downpipe and fit the sensor there instead.
