Default Which Impreza

I'm also tempted to buy a newer model as I love my car but being a 94 wrx sti it is quite old and worn! Which models would you recommend? I am looking at 04/05 wide track models with the diff control as everyone seems to rate them? Should I go for a uk or an import is there much difference

05 blob is a great car, stronger engine over the uk 2.5 hawkeye introduced in 2006/7. If you're getting a blob, UK or JDM isnt much difference, down to preference and budget, but if you decide to go hawk deffo go JDM purely based on engine strength.

JDM differences are as follows;

2.0L with a host of features including Twin scroll Turbo as opposed to the single scroll on the UK spec cars, AVCS Heads, Stronger Revised Engine internals & Equal Length exhaust Manifold, Twin Scroll VF Series Turbo, Nitride coated, cross drilled crank, More aggressive inlet cams with 8,000 rpm redline

Heres where the widetrack differs:

Engine/Suspension/Drivetrain

larger wheel hubs and bearings
larger wheel bolt circle diameter (from 5x100 in 2004 to 5x114.3 in 2005)
17x8 wheels (17x7.5 in 2004)
1 inch wider rear track
revised power steering rack
power steering fluid cooler
stiffer steering rack mounts
3-point rear suspension crossmember
aluminum rear suspension lateral links
helical limited-slip front differential (Suretrac LSD in 2004)
revised DCCD system
new Yaw sensor for DCCD (part of the lateral G sensor)
revised ABS controller
optional short shift kit

Exterior

aerodynamic underbody panels
rear wheel arch flares
redesigned rear bumper
revised exterior badging (black instead of chrome STi badges)
smoked headlight lenses
new paint color - Crystal Grey Metallic

Is the dccd a good feature and do the uk models have it? I've got 10k to spend and I'm not sure which model? I've seen a nice jdm 04 model for 10k but I could have an 06 uk model for same money? I'm confused

Yes UK do, personally i'd go JDM they're worth more down to exclusivity and im some aspects superiority. however they are more expensive to insure than a UK car.
