Does mileage bother you?

Does mileage bother you?
My Hawk is approaching 70k I've spent quite a bit thus far (forged / rebuilt, new suspension etc) and plan to spend more (bigger turbo + other bits)
I guess this is aimed at long term project owners - are you bothered by mile count? I guess when so much has been upgraded / changed it's essentially a shell mileage but does it ever make you sad?

Not at all to be honest, aslong as the car isn't having major break downs I can live with it
Was only when I was younger I used to look at mileage
I think on the cars with small engines like 1.0 - 1.6 millage becomes an issue as they just get rough or was the case when I owned cars like that
I rarely glance at the milage anyway, if I was looking to buy a car I guess I would be looking at the millage count though

70k is just run in
My last six cars were bought with 80k, 105k, 114k, 100k, 110k, 137k.
However having struggled to subsequently sell some of them on I am now leaning towards lower-miles examples for future purchases, not because it bothers me but because high-miles cars are more difficult to sell.
I hate to perpetuate the myth, but c'est la vie.

As everyone says as long as its maintained well but on that note, it does really bother me. I brought my STI with 68k on the clock and to me that was a lot!

My hawk has only done 27k bless it..
Don't think I would keep the car if I was doing big miles every week.
From past experience owning high mileage cars I would rather a lower mileage model.
Main problem I've had with higher mileage has been bushes, corrosion, interior wear, paint work ect. Mainly stuff that's not on the service list.

I wouldn't by a impreza with too high miles, as most of them will be high thrashed miles, although there are quite a few owners who look after them.
My classic is on 75k as it's a summer car. But with high miles it's not just engine wear you need to think about, switches wear, seats wear, painted work gets damaged and chipped. Rust starts coming though, so yes first thing I look for is low miles on an impreza

Low mileage can also be a bad thing. My 95 WRX has 62,000 on it and its been a right bitch since I've had it (2 years). Started with large bits (well more expensive) and has been small bits over the last 4 months but all adding up
Its a bit of swings and roundabouts it seems

It wasn't so much of a concern when looking around for my 05 STI last year as colour, age and specific model were more important but when I came across one that was an 05 Widetrack in black that only had 32K on the clock I went for it, even the little bit of bodywork damage was minor.
I had expected to be getting on in the region of 60-90K considering I was looking at a 9 year old car.
I know now the mileage on the car will never catch up with others of the same age as its not a daily use, My only concern with the mileage now is that I keep it well maintained.

Bought my WRX Wagon with 92k on the clock, it's just clicked over 113,500 and been no real trouble thus far, plenty of them go over 150k so hopefully mine still has some life left in it.
To be fair for what it owes me I don't care, I'll be dropping a forged engine in there at some point as I have no plans to sell for the foreseeable future.

Cavaliers are bullet proof though, my dad had 2.0 Sri that did 250.000 miles, only reason he scrapped it was to rough body wise.
Next he bought a cavalier 2.0 8v that did just over 200.000, body work went on that too. Then he bought a 2.0 ecotec with 56.000 rubbish constant problems rubbish engine

Depends what car you got, if its just your run of the mill Impreza(WRX, UK STi) then I wouldnt worry about mileage as a everyday car, but something rare like a 22B, S204, Spec C Type RA etc then I would try and keep the mileage down as it will affect the price when you come to sell.
But a sub £10k-£12k Impreza I cant see mileage being a problem as your not going to lose much money and you will always find a buyer as its in most peoples price range, But try selling a 22B with 150k miles on the clock and wanting £17-18k would be a bit harder.

My S202 has just under 70k miles on it. Not very many for a 13 year old car.
My Cosworth is barely run in, it's only recently gone over 9k.
I don't mind the mileage but I don't like putting unecessary miles on the cars, I've got a daily derv for that.

Maybe I need to take mine out in the country somewhere, these City roads don't give me much play time
