£400 bottom end rebuilds
A guy on Facebook reckons he can do this, I **** you not. Considering a crankshaft can cost this alone, I don't think I'll ever be employing his services.
Seriously, that place is full of fools!

I did a DIY rebuild on my Type R and the very cheapest I could do it for was about £700, that was a full gasket set including exhaust, inlet, cam cover rubbers that go around the bolts as well as fluids, sealant and plasti-gauge, 2nd hand crank + £25 ish to have it polished and checked.
He's got to be re-using everything including the bearings to make any money.

You guys are so dumb, it's easy to do a rebuild for £400.................you take it apart then put it back together again without using any new parts

saw this conversation yesterday, when I said that any decent quality cambelt kit and headgasket kit alone would be £400+ I got laughed at.

I did wonder what he meant by 'remould'. I didn't know if it was a compliment or an insult. I'm guessing the latter.
As much as I love a good bumming, no I won't be bending over for this clown.

Before removing his posts he basically said that the £400 rebuild included a reground crank and reusing the oil pump and modine.

£400 for a rebuild..... Righto! Every ej rebuild i have done is a minimum of £2000+ and thats just for parts, luckily i am a technician so i rebuild mine myself and there is no way on this earth that it can be done properly for £400, its amazing what some people claim they can do.
